Roberto Padoin

Roberto Padoin has studied music at the “B. Marcello ” Conservatory in Venice earning diplomas in organ with S. Tonon, pre-polyphonic musicĀ  with P. Ernetti and composition, choral music and choral conducting with M. Viezzer. He has attended various courses specialising in organ music and chamber music and has studied conducting with L. Descev.
From 1989 to 2007 he was Director of the Chamber Orchestra at the Veneta Academy, carrying out many concerts, concertation and recording with this group.
As both a conductor and as a performer he has chosen to deal with songs of different periods of history, always paying attention to the relevant execution with the intention of proposing appropriately diversified acoustics and musical styles.
As an organ soloist he is frequently invited to festivals in Italy and across Europe, presenting a repertoire that spans from ancient to contemporary composers, of which he has presented several premiere performances. He has recorded a CD of Venetian music for organ between 1700 and 1800, two CDs dedicated to the forms of variation from the seventeenth to the twentieth century and a CD with music by M. Viezzer (1925-2009).
As a member of the Commission of Sacred Music of his own diocese, he is interested in the restoration of historic organs and the design of new instruments.
He composes music for organ and chamber ensembles, composing several choir songs performed in concerts and competitions in Italy and abroad which have entered the repertoire of many choirs. His choral music has been published, chosen for various recordings and broadcast by RAI and other broadcasters.
He is a teacher at the Venice Conservatory and organist at the Cathedral of Serravalle – Vittorio Veneto where he is also artistic director of the “International Festival of Organ Music”.
