Przemysław Kapitula

Przemysław Kapitula was born in Warsaw in 1965. In 1990, he finished his studies at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, in the organ classes of Józef Serafin. He studied piano with Kajetan Mochtak and attended master courses with N. Danby, D. Roth, M. Ślechta, Z. Satmary, and G. Bovet. He collaborated with professor Jerzy Erdman for many years.

Przemysław Kapitula regularly gives concerts in Poland and abroad (Austria, Argentina, Bulgaria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Moldova, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and Uruguay), holding about 60 concerts a year and playing at the most important organ festivals in Europe. His recitals have been lauded by the press (Süddeutsche Zeitung, Sacred Music, The Arena, Schwabischezeitung, DNA, La Stampa, MüMünchner Merkum, Südkurier and many others). He collaborates with soloists, choirs and orchestras. Of special interest to him are the works of prominent Polish organists: Feliks Nowowiejski (1877-1946) and Mieczyslawław Surzyński (1866-1924). Kapitula was the first musician to play the post-war concert of Surzyński for organ and orchestra.
The musician is a curator of the musical heritage of the Archcathedral of St. John in Warsaw. He holds performance organ courses in Italy.

As president of the Festival of Sacral Music Foundation, he organises 150 concerts each year for 19,000 people, he is the artistic director of the International Festival of Sacred Music in Warsaw and the International Festival of Organ Music in Warsaw. Przemysław Kapitula is also a renowned producer and promoter of many cultural events in his native city of Warsaw and throughout Poland.
He has produced several radio and television recordings. Przemysław Kapitula is a member of the Church Music Committee of the Archdiocese of Warsaw,  and has produced all of Feliks Nowowiejski and Mieczyslawław Surzyński’s compositions, recording them for CD.
