TANGUEDIA QUARTET

Tanguedia Quartet was created in 2007 following an idea by Antonio Greco. The group, comprising of four musicians: Massimiliano Tommasoni (accordion and vibrandoneon), Antonio Greco (piano), Federico Micheli (violin) and Davide Peluso (bass), bases its repertoire on the Argentinian tango style of Astor Piazzolla, together with the clearly Mediterranean timbre expressive sounds, finding its own natural balance in the different experiences of each individual member.
The quartet began to perform publicly quite early on, with a considerable number of concerts, immediately distinguishing itself for the originality of its repertoire. The success that the group has achieved so far has provided a greater range of perspectives, launching it onto the national music circuit.
An eponymous disc that the group made in 2011 was completely sold out, and further copies had to be made.
From the union of different musical genres and styles from which the four musicians originated (classical, jazz, pop), the unique and unmistakeable sound that distinguishes the group was produced. It is a sound that singularly contributes to enhancing the already passionate and enveloping world of tango, giving it a wide range of colours, in a mix of sounds that are lively and delicate, energetic and heart-rending, and spontaneous and refined.
Following a meeting with the soprano Lucia Casagrande Raffi in 2012, the Italian dream in Buenos Aires project was created, which gave the group the chance to perform in a series of concerts throughout Italy, beginning with the world première at the prestigious No Borders festival at Gubbio, where the group would have the honour of conducting the opening concert. They then went on to participate in many important musical events, such as the Music Inn, the Contrari Theatre in Rome, and the Flavio Vespasiano Theatre in Rieti.
The group, which is currently performing in many concerts, has now become very much a part of the national music scene, playing in many concert halls and in the most important Italian and foreign tango festivals, and is considered one of the best Italian groups for Argentinian tango.
